World Environment Day is taking place on Sunday 5th June 2022. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme since 1974, the event has grown to be the largest international day for the environment, with millions of people from across the globe engaging to come together to protect our planet.
World Environment Day is a global day for inspiring positive change. With 150 countries participating, the day encourages governments, businesses, charities, celebrities, cities and communities to raise awareness and campaign for environmental action. Individuals can help drive change through their support, and the actions of larger organisations can have a transformational impact, potentially for future decades and generations to come.

Each year, World Environment Day is hosted by a different country where the official celebrations take place. This year, the host country is Sweden 🇸🇪. It will be an opportunity to showcase some of Sweden’s pioneering work over the last 50 years. The 2022 World Environment Day campaign #OnlyOneEarth calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
