Stevenage FC Foundation is delighted to announce we have received funding to deliver Premier League Inspires.
Premier League Inspires is a personal development programme, developed by the Premier League and professional football clubs.
It is predominantly delivered in secondary schools and pupil referral units.
Launched in 2019, the programme uses the power of football to inspire young people aged 11-18 at risk of not reaching their potential, to develop the personal skills and positive attitudes needed to succeed in life.
Premier League Inspires empowers participants to develop personal, social, employability and life-skills, through a series of regular face-to-face group sessions, mentoring, workshops and social-action projects, providing pupils with the help they need now and supporting them to plan for their future.
More than 30,000 young people have benefitted from their involvement in Premier League Inspires to date and we now have the chance to enhance that number in our local community and schools.
Youth Engagement Officer, Travis Cooke, said ” I am super proud that we have the chance to deliver such an amazing programme that helps so many young people to develop key transferable skills that they can take with them through life. I cant wait to get started and see what the future holds for Premier League Inspires at the foundation!”.
Our Head of Programmes, Dani Toyn, said “It’s an excellent testament to the hard work of the team on wider Premier League Foundation projects that we were invited to apply, and have been successful in receiving funding to deliver Premier League Inspires. We can’t wait to build on our positive relationships with local secondary schools and youth-focused organisations to continue to support young people in our community to develop the skills to help them to thrive”.
