Stevenage FC Foundation is proud to reflect on the incredible 2024-25 season of fan engagement, underpinned by inclusive matchday experiences, glowing feedback from families, and powerful community outreach—all made possible in part through support from the Premier League Fans Fund.
A total of 74 young fans stepped up as mascots this season, giving a five-star rating for their experience. Additionally, 100% of parents said they would recommend the mascot experience to others, reinforcing the Foundation’s dedication to creating magical memories for young supporters.
One parent shared, “Tommy was made to feel at ease from the moment he arrived, the plan for the evening was explained to him and he felt very important and special throughout.” Another echoed this sentiment: “Made Isaac feel very welcome and special, giving him an amazing opportunity to meet the players and go on the pitch. I really can’t fault it, just an amazing experience for him from start to finish.”
The Foundation also welcomed 82 participants on the Gold Matchday Package, 427 on Silver, and 382 on Bronze, with feedback reflecting the immense joy these days brought to young fans and their families.
“We were made to feel welcome, the boys really enjoyed the day as did the parents. The training session was great fun and I’ve had lots of messages from parents with players all very happy to be able to step onto the pitch for the penalty shootout then be a part of the guard of honour,” noted one satisfied attendee.
Beyond the pitch, the Foundation deepened its commitment to inclusion and accessibility. This season saw the launch of a Hidden Disabilities Scheme, supported by our Disability Support Liaison Officer (DSLO), designed to provide assistance and enhanced support for fans with hidden disabilities—ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone attending games.
In partnership with The Broadhall Way, the Foundation also proudly unveiled the “Her Boro” flag on International Women’s Day. Since its debut, the flag has made regular appearances at Stevenage FC Women’s matches, standing as a support and visibility for women in football and the local community.
With generous backing from the Premier League Fans Fund, the Foundation also continued to spotlight underrepresented groups at matchdays, while showcasing vital community initiatives including Community Kitchen Graduations, Boro Bears Book club, Christmas Card competitions, and presentations for Community Champions and Heroes.
Finally, thousands of school vouchers were distributed to our partner schools, giving families the opportunity to attend matches at a discounted rate and experience the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that the club is proud to offer.
Stevenage FC Foundation is immensely proud of its achievements this season and remains committed to using football as a force for good. Whether welcoming mascots, offering unforgettable matchday packages, or leading community-focused events, the Foundation continues to place fans—of all backgrounds—at the heart of the club.
