Our Trustees

Steve was appointed Chair of Trustees in April 2022 having joined the Foundation in 2012 and provides a superb network of commercial contacts and a wealth of financial experience. Until his recent retirement, worked as a Commercial Relationship Director for Lloyds Bank based in Stevenage. With 41 years banking experience with Lloyds, Steve managed a portfolio of over 50 local SME clients with turnovers between £10M and £25M including three large national charities.

A Senior Partner at local Accountants & Wealth Management Company, Menzies, based in the Old Town. An original trustee of the Foundation, utilising his knowledge to support the Foundation with financial planning. Mark is also the Foundation’s Secretary working alongside our Chair of Trustees to ensure the charity is legally compliant and satisfy the requirements from the Charities Commission.

Majority owner of Stevenage FC, the founder and an original trustee of the Foundation, working tirelessly to establish the charity in 2009 when Stevenage FC were promoted to the Football League. Phil brings a tremendous wealth of experience in both the football and commercial world to the Foundation, ensuring the strongest of links between the Charity and Stevenage FC, as well as how best to use the clubs’ identify and appeal to engage and support our community

Joining in February 2020, and the owner of Hashtag Digital Media, SpitfirePR and former editor of The Comet Newspaper. An experienced Marketing Director with a history of working in the public relations and communications industry including Journalism, Newspapers, Marketing Strategy, Social Media, and Digital Media. Darren provides support to the Foundation with marketing itself across a variety of platforms, networking with other organisations and helping the charity to demonstrate its impact.

Matt is the Strategic Lead for Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership. He has nearly 20 years experience working in Hertfordshire, he is a public sector leader with a track record for shaping complex, cross-sector programmes across local government, education, sport, and community development. Matt brings expertise in multi-agency collaboration, risk management of high-value public contracts and public value delivery, with a strong focus on youth justice, place-based regeneration, and social inclusion.  Matt joined the Board in August 2025. 

Joining in 2022, Claire works in one of the schools that the Foundation provides lunchtime and after school clubs. Claire began teaching in 2005 and has worked in schools in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Currently, her role includes leading EYFS and KS1 as well as assessment and sourcing extra-curricular provision which is where her interest in the foundation began. Claire provides support to the Foundation with safeguarding and education.

Kiri joined the board in February 2024. She is an experienced professional in sports management and business development, currently serving as Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager at DAZN and Business Development Manager at London Rowing Club since August 2023. Previous roles include Senior Programme Development Manager and Delivery Manager at Greenhouse Sports, focusing on community partnerships and inclusion.

Henry is a Deaflympian (DLY) who represented Australia at the Deaflympics and two World Deaf Swimming Championships, having also been the Team Captain towards the end and World Medallist with two bronze medals in the relays. He is now selected to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Tokyo Deaflympics in November 2025.

Outside the pool, Henry is a Trustee for Board Racial Diversity UK & White Ribbon UK, Board Member for 64 Million Artists, Youth Advisory Board Member for EY Foundation & Mental Health Innovations and iWill Ambassador. Loughborough University is where he studies Sport Management and trains at Loughborough University Swimming.

Henry joined the Board in August 2025.

Jennie is an experienced fundraising leader with over 25 years in the charity sector. Her expertise spans public fundraising, corporate partnerships, membership and legacies. As Head of Legacy & Donor Development at GOSH Charity, she has helped shape the organisation’s long-term fundraising strategy, generating significant income growth. She brings experience of fundraising regulation, marketing integration, supporter experience and patient and family engagement.  She also volunteers with Hitchin Belles, where she sees the confidence, connection and sense of belonging sport can inspire.

Jennie joined the Board in August 2025.

Mark is currently Executive Headteacher for Barnwell, Roebuck and Thomas Alleyne schools and is Chief Executive Officer for Hart Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust based in Stevenage.  Prior to this he was Headteacher of Thomas Alleyne Academy for 13 years.  He is committed to working to enhance the lives of young people and their families in our community having lived and worked in the Stevenage throughout his life.  Mark brings extensive governance expertise having served on a range of education and charity boards.  Having seen the positive impact of the Foundation’s work he is excited about the opportunity to contribute to its future development as a trustee.

Mark joined the Board in August 2025.
