Stevenage FC Foundation are delighted to have received £20,000 funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to support their Strength and Balance classes for older adults.
These free classes which take place all across Hertfordshire reach around 300 older adults per week and help to not only increase the participants strength and balance, but also positively aids their mobility and helps with confidence not just in the classes, but in day to day life too.
Head of Health & Wellbeing, Hannah Marsh said “We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for accepting our proposal to help support our Strength and Balance Classes. The funding will help to increase the number of classes that are offered across the County and will enable these classes to stay free of charge to the participants.
We would also like to thank Richard Sutcliffe from Funding4Sport for writing the bid and to the Hertfordshire Sport and Physical Activity Partnership for all their support with this programme. We are looking forward to hopefully continuing to grow the number of classes which are delivered as part of this programme and help many more older adults to live longer better.”
