Following the Government’s decision to move to the “Delay” phase of their plans for the COVID-19 virus and the additional guidance from the EFL, Premier League and FA, the Foundation have taken the following decisions to align with that guidance:
SESSION DELIVERY
The following sessions have been temporarily suspended until further notice:
- Walking Football
- Intro to Exercise
- Strength & Balance
It should be noted that there has been no specific directive issued by any external organisation or body that requires us to implement this suspension. All decisions have not been taken lightly and have been made in partnership with funding partners with the safety and wellbeing of participants, staff and partners being the focus.
All other activities will continue to operate, in line with Government guidelines.
FOUNDATION OFFICE
The Foundation office is now closed for all visitors. However, staff are available via email (click here for a list). Additionally, those with mobile phones are available during normal working office hours of Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
FOUNDATION DEGREE
Our Foundation Degree programme will now be operated remotely with students accessing lectures from home. Our proposed open day event, for the 2020-21 academic year, on Saturday 28th March will now be rearranged.
If you have any queries regarding the programme please contact Lucy Burdin via lucyb@stevenagefc.com
STEVENAGE FC WOMEN
Both the senior and development squads have been notified that games will be postponed and training will be suspended until Saturday 4th April in line with other squads linked to Stevenage Football Club. All queries regarding the Women’s squad should be directed to womenandgirls@stevenagefc.com
STEVENAGE FOOTBALL CLUB
A statement from Stevenage Football Club about their response can be found here – Additional Guidance
The Foundation and Club will continue to implement increased levels of hygiene across all sites, as well as provide updates in relation to associated matters.
This action, which will be kept under constant review, has been taken due to the increasing numbers of clubs and their charities taking steps to isolate their staff because of the COVID-19 virus and safeguard their fans, participants and wider beneficiaries.
Our thoughts are with all those currently affected and we wish them well.
