Boro fan and local Stevenage resident, Matt Farley will be running the TCS London Marathon for the Club’s Official Charity, Stevenage FC Foundation.
On Sunday 2nd October, Matt will take to the streets of London to complete the 26.2 mile route raising awareness and funds for two charities, Get Kids Going and the Foundation.
The money raised by Matt for the Foundation will go towards providing subsidised support through the Foundation’s Aspire programme for local primary schools to support their mental health and increasing aspiration levels amongst pupils.
On taking on the challenge, Matt said…
“I am extremely proud to be raising funds for such a fantastic cause. Being a Stevenage FC supporter for 20 years I have seen the impact that The Foundation has had within the community and the amazing help that is given to its local residents. This will be my second marathon and one that I am very excited for, bring it on!”
Foundation CEO, Joe Goude said…
“We’re thrilled that Matt has come forward and asked to take on this challenge and raise funds for an area of our work that is becoming more and more important within our community. Matt has our full support and we’ll all be cheering him on later this year”.
